I really enjoyed this book. It wasn't at all what I was expecting but in a good way. I loved the way the story slowly progressed and became more and more entrancing with each turn of a page. I don't usually read books YA or otherwise with magic in them but this is by far superior to all to all the previous ones I've read. Quite frankly I loved it. The author went out of her way to make it all seem so realistic. The magic is described in fantastic detail. It was the highlight of the book aside from the characters, at least it was for me. I loved every character aside from the villainous father of course. They all had a personality I enjoyed and slowly began to love. Every character is developed and written into the story in a timely and appropriate fashion. I think this book will appeal to lovers of any genre. It has a little something for everyone, love, murder, intrigue, romance and a whole lot of magic. Its also appropriate for any age. I highly recommend it. The only negative thing I can say is its a little slow moving for awhile but it picks up and is definitely worth reading through.
